Publication Ethics
Publication of articles in INFONEX: Journal of Informatics and Next Generation Technology is an essential part of the development of scientific knowledge, particularly in the fields of computer science, informatics, and emerging digital technologies. Articles that undergo the peer review process reflect the quality of the authors’ work and their affiliated institutions, while also supporting the responsible application of scientific methods and technological innovation.
Therefore, all parties involved in the publication process—including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—are required to adhere to ethical standards in scientific publishing.
The Informatics Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Fajar, as the publisher of this journal, is committed to maintaining the integrity, transparency, and quality of all stages of the publication process. Editorial decisions are made independently and are not influenced by commercial interests, advertising, sponsorship, or other financial considerations. The editorial board is also willing to cooperate with other journals or institutions when necessary to uphold publication ethics.
Publication Decisions
The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for deciding which submitted manuscripts should be published based on editorial evaluation, reviewer recommendations, originality, scientific contribution, relevance to the journal’s scope, and compliance with ethical and legal requirements related to plagiarism, copyright infringement, and defamation.
Non-Discrimination Principle
Editors and reviewers evaluate manuscripts solely on their academic and scientific merit without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, ethnic origin, political philosophy, or institutional affiliation of the authors.
Confidentiality
Editors, reviewers, and editorial staff must ensure the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts. Information regarding manuscripts must not be disclosed to anyone other than those directly involved in the editorial and publication process.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor’s or reviewer’s own research without the explicit written consent of the author. All parties involved in the publication process must disclose any potential conflicts of interest to the editor.
Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewers
Contribution to Editorial Decisions
INFONEX applies a double-blind peer review process. Reviewers assist editors in making publication decisions and contribute to improving the quality and scientific value of manuscripts.
Timeliness
Reviewers are expected to complete the review process within the specified timeframe. If reviewers are unable to complete the review on time, they should promptly notify the editor.
Confidentiality
Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and must not be shared or discussed with unauthorized parties.
Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively, fairly, and professionally, supported by constructive comments and clear arguments. Personal criticism toward authors is inappropriate.
Acknowledgment of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the authors and report any substantial similarity or overlap with other publications.
Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must not review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, financial, or institutional relationships with the authors or affiliated organizations.
Duties and Responsibilities of Authors
Reporting Standards
Authors must present their research accurately, honestly, and objectively, providing sufficient detail and references to allow replication of the work.
Data Access and Retention
Authors may be requested to provide raw data related to their manuscript for editorial review and should retain such data for a reasonable period after publication.
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are entirely original works. Any use of the work, words, or ideas of others must be properly cited and acknowledged.
Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
Authors should not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal or publish the same research in multiple publications.
Acknowledgment of Sources
Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be provided. Authors should cite publications that have influenced their research.
Authorship
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research. All co-authors must approve the final version of the manuscript before submission.
Hazards and Human or Animal Subjects
